Lenore & experienced moms:

I was very successful with inducing lactation for my first son who was born via a surrogate, and I have begun the protocol to induce for our second child by the same surrogate. We just found out that we are expecting twins and I want to be realistic about time, production, logistics, etc. Have you ever known anyone induced for twins enough for it to matter? It is worth it to try? I probably produced 16-20 oz/day for my son and supplemented with formula. I nursed him for about 8 months. Thanks in advance for the expert advice!!

Hi Dale,

Congratulations on your impending arrivals!!! Of course it's worth it!! You can provide just about all the immune factors even if you do supplement. And if you start now, you can likely produce more than you did before because each time you lactate, your breasts build more tissue.

There's a mom on our site, Nona Davis who helps moms find donor breastmilk. You may want to contact her and see if she can match you with someone to help out.

Best,
