Hi everyone! Sorry that I haven't posted for a while but I started getting a little psychotic about the wait and so I had to take a break from all the talk. But I kept taking my dom and my bcp (a year and a half now!) and here we are! A beautiful little girl I am a nervous wreck. I can barely sleep, not eating so well and can't think straight. A three year vigil has come to an end and I'm in shock! Anyway, on to business. I have been leaking and engorging for about three months now, so I'm guessing that when I start pumping next week I'll be off to a roaring start. I'm a little nervous about quitting the bcp - I get very bad cramping by lunch if I've forgotten that morning - I think I'm in for a rough ride. Does anyone know if Midol/pamprin pass through breast milk? I wont save it if it does. Baby arrival is still four or five months away due to immigration tape (boo>hiss) but I hope to get some banked anyways. The thing I want to know most is can anyone out there tell me resources on beginng breastfeeding with older (about seven/eight month old) babies? I am sending platex Natural Latch silicone npples and bottles to the foster mom (that's all that's in our budget, I know avent is better) but she will be bottle fed not so great formula until we pick her up (major trip to Africa!) in June. So, bottom line, I'm a research freak and need some input. What resources are there out there about teaching breastfeeding to an older infant? The other thing I wanted to ask is should I expect any digetive issues in our baby when she switches from formula to the breast? Ok, it's great to be back, you're such a wonderful bunch ( I was actually addicted to this board last summer!) Talk to you all again very soon
