I have been reading though old posts and have gleaned a lot of very useful info. I appreciate all the honest sharing that goes on. Le t me tell you a little about myself. I am 33 and have afopted 4 children ranging from newborn to elementary age. My husband of 14 yrs, and I have a therapeutic foster home. It is from this home that we have adopted all of our children. The birth mom of two of our children is pregnant and is due in either Dec or Jan. We will mostly likely end up with this baby either thru private adoption or via the foster care system.

I would like to induce lactation for this baby. I had previously been looking to induce for the sole purpose of donating. I have never been pregnant nor attempted to get pregnant as my husband and I only want to adopt children from the foster care system who do not generally get adopted. (He had a vasectomy a few yrs ago to prevent any surprises).

Several yrs ago (about 10) I was having much trouble with my periods and my gyno and I decided to try a little experiment. I never had breakthrough bleeding with the first week (green pills) of the bcp Triphasil. So we decided to try only taking the green pills which meant of course that I used 3 packs of pills every month as I only took the first week out of each pack. After the first month I had milk literally pouring from my breasts. Now we obviously abandoned that plan as induced lactation was far from my mind at that point in my life. Now I am faced with a time frame of lactation induction and I am wondering do I start the protocol layed out by Lenore or do I take my chances with the Triphasil?

Does anyone have any thoughts on why I lactated on the Triphasil. As far as I know the 'green pills' contain 50mcg levonorgestrel and 30mcg ethinylestradiol. Oddly enough I never discussed it with my then gyno.

I would appreciate any insight from any of you.
