Hi Lenore,

Just wanted to take a moment to say thanks for your wonderful website. I am learning so much from you and the others here - I pray I can put it to use. I wish I had known so many of these things in the first weeks after my daughter was born and even before that.

I know you must be super busy with your clinic and your family. Thank you for taking the time and energy to help out the rest of us! I'm sure there are many grateful moms and babies out there! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Count me among the grateful. This site has enabled me to breastfeed my adopted son. I can't tell you how gratifying it is to see my baby prefer my breast over a bottle or a binky- he get's all three at various times. Nothing satisfies him like me. My family calls it the magic boob.

I did the accelerated protocol for oly a month. It was very slow going and quite frustrating at times. But continuing has brought my supply to somewhere in the 50% level. Probably a bit more.

I have off days and lots of milk days. I have finally stopped measuring my success by my daily output - a very hard task to my control freak ways.

I recently added some goats rue and, after a week, can feel my breasts have grown.

Where else could I have found this information and with no judgement attached?

My goal is to make it at least til his sixth month. I own a business that has me physically diverted AND I have a 7 yr old dd who needs my undivided attention at times so it IS challenging and there have been times I have felt like just giving itup. I allow him to be fed by bottle once a day - occasionally twice - so I can give my attention elsewhere or simply allow myself a break - a very hard thing for me to do for myself but an important part of being able to keep doing this.

By this, I do not simply mean breastfeeding. I pump as often after eaach session as I can and when he gets bottles. I pump in my car, I pump at work and I've pumped at my sister's house as well as at home. It's this pumping and the prepping the lact-aid that makes this so exhausting.

Still, I would not give this up yet. I LOVE breastfeeding my son. The bond we are making makes everything merely annoying.
