Hi,

IMO, it's nice to have at least one extra set of breast shields and valves. Make sure you've got the right size shields before you buy extra, though. I've got two sets of large shields and two sets of extra large shields, but I technically needed the extra-extra large shields. So, those other shields were a waste of money.

The valves are a bear to clean because there are separate parts. So I just dump the dirties in the sink and grab clean ones off the rack. Every couple of days I wash the lot. I have more than one extra set, but I think one extra set is a must.

I also have extra bottles. I think the PISA comes with 4 or 6. I basically have a couple of bottles in the fridge full and waiting to go in freezer bags, plus the four on the rack (the two in use and the two waiting in the wings). I try to never catch myself with nothing clean. I'm scared of germs I guess, so I try not to reuse equipment unless I'm pumping every 2 hours.

HTH,

Crys

Oh I just remembered!
Which freezer bags is the best one to buy? (Medela? Lansinoh? Gerber?)
What is a good nursing bra to buy? how many is a good amt to get? (i probably wont need this till the babies are born anyway, right?)
I think i also need those breast pads too, right?? any particular kind? do u use like 1 a day on each breast? How are those LilyPadz i see ads for??
I'll probably need that nipple cream, and when the baby is born one of those cover-up shawls.... i think that's it?????

With the freezer bags, it's a matter of preference. We prefer the Lansinoh bags because they have a colored zipper and a second zipper, which seems more secure to me. They also are thicker, which I like because we're not sure how long we'll be waiting and I don't want the milk to freezer burn or anything.

the Lansinoh nipple moisturizer is a must, because you don't want to be sore and cracking and not have that around.

For a cover-up, you can use anything you'd like. A blanket, a sling, a shawl. Some babies don't like their faces covered while they're nursing (and it's good for their eyes to be able to see you) so just keep that in mind. Once they're a little bigger, the baby's head plus the nursing bra does a good job of covering up the "private" part of nursing.

It's good to get stuff ready now, cuz once all those babies come, you won't be able to think, much less go shopping! Good luck! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
