Our son was born on Dec. 14th. I breastfed him in the hospital the first 18 hours, but resorted to formula to get him to have a bm so we could leave the hospital. He was content with what I had, what little it was.
When we got home I was exhausted so I asked hubby to take the first night of feedings, meaning he got formula and bottles. Then we had many guests. And then I got laryngitis, a sinus infection, and an ear infection. So I had to take decongestants to get rid of some of the mucus. Then my mom came... she was a little discouraging. Not to mention it was hard getting him to latch with the lact-aid.
Now he's 6 weeks old, I try to use the lact-aid at least once a day, and was considering stopping. He has gotten used to the lact-aid and latches fine now. I do still have milk. My husband made my mind up and I am going to commit myself 100% again to breast feeding. I plan on using the lactaid for every feeding along with taking 90 mg of domperidone a day and funegreek and blessed thistle.
He is eating every three hours at 4-5 oz each feeding.
Any suggestions??
Thanks,
Jamie
