Hi, everyone-

I'm just getting started with trying to induce lactation for our future adopted baby. I've looked at the protocols, and want to give the pumping/herbs a try. (I'm avoiding drugs, including BCP as much as possible...)

Since I'm putting myself at a disadvantage by not using the dom and BCP, I want to pump as much as possible, but I work in an office full-time. That means I'd have to pump at least 2-3 times a day while at work in order to follow the every 3 hours suggested on the site.

How did/do all of you handle this? Are you able to be discreet, walking the halls with your pump to get to the bathroom/office with a door?

Dear SWD,

What about herbs? Are you adverse to using Goat's rue? Shatavari?

Mothers do not realize that artificial infant milk is an over-the-counter bioengeneered medication. The protocols for induced lactation are designed to minimize the infant's exposure to this by mimicing what happens during pregnancy thereby reducing the need for supplementation.

best, Lenore
