OP Angie F newbie A Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 3	Hi, A friend of mine lead me to this group and I've spent a couple of weeks just reading topics and really enjoying discussions. We are considering adoption. Right now, we would like to adopt internationally. We have two biological children, both nursed well and my 2 year old has just stopped. I was hoping she might nurse into the adoption process and make the transition easier but she had her own ideas about that. My question is, has anyone successfully nursed an older baby rather than a newborn on this site? I am ready to do this if there is even a slim chance that it would work out. Any tips? Angie F

When you get your child make sure your using either the avent or playtex bottle and feed up against your bare breast. Do not let the baby hold the bottle. You can transition to the breast by running a lact-aid tube through one of the nipples held over your breast.... when the baby gets used to this... when your stop to burp you can switch the contraption for your own breast. It has been done many many times. Do you plan to do the protocol? Adoptive mommy to 4 , Last 2 adopted nursed. Youngest nursed till she was 5! Raising 2 grandbabies, as infants they were raised on donor breast milk

I have done this before and helped others get their babies to the breast Adoptive mommy to 4 , Last 2 adopted nursed. Youngest nursed till she was 5!
