I have a 15 month old daughter who I carried. My partner induced BF while I was pregnant with her so she could get both of our breast milk. My partner is carrying our 2nd child who is due in July which is 4 months from now. 2 weeks ago I began taking the dom and bcps following the regular protocol. I planned to take the dom the 2nd half of February, March and April...stop the bcps and continue the dom then and start pumping in May and saving whatever breastmilk I produced for when she is born in July.
After only 2 weeks on the dom I got out of the shower this morning and my breasts were already dripping clearish milky sticky fluid. I never expected anything to happen so quickly. Should I just continue on as planned with the time line I had planned??

How long has it been since you breast fed? If you stop the bcps early it means more time pumping and that is quite a commitment lots of women do it but you just need to make sure you want to pump for that much longer.

My partner is actually the one who breast fed our 1st daughter and I pumped for about 6-8 weeks after I gave birth so that she could get my BM as well and my antibodies. I am doing the same for this baby, so will not actually breast feed. I am going to pump and freeze all that I get to supplement her breastfeeding so she can get both our antibodies as well. Our 15 month old has only had one cold and it was when she was 13 months old after we took a plane ride with a bunch of coughing, sneezing, sniffling people in December!

So it has been about a year since you pumped? Since your plan is to only pump, I would stay on the protocol for at least 60 days and then drop the BCP and start pumping. That would be about Mid April It will give you longer to pump and more milk in the freezer. Since you are the one who carried your first child your body is probably just responding quickly as it hasn't been that long since you were producing milk.

Yes, it has been a year since I pumped. I will just stick with my original plan to start pumping May 1st. Thanks! I was just so surprised that I was getting drops already. I was concerned I would start leaking before I started pumping or something like that since the dom was working already.
