After one failed adoption, we have a match again! We are going to adopt a baby girl at the end of June. The birthmom is due on June 30th.

Now for my questions....I have been pumping for quite a while now. (Since late November - I started before the first adoption and didn't stop after it failed. I have 4000 ounces of milk in my freezer. How insane is that???. Anyways. I digress.) I am currently pumping 24 to 26 ounces a day. I pump 5 or 6 times a day. I pump before bed at 10 pm and then again at 4:30 am. Is that okay? Should I add in another pumping session around 1:30 am or so? And when should I start that? Should I start that around June 1st?

wow, that's an amazing supply of milk! I sounds like you won't even have to supplement with such a high milk production.

Congrats on your new baby, hope all goes well this time.

you're doing great!

How exciting!!!! Congratulations.

I wouldn't add in another pumping until maybe a couple weeks before baby gets here. You have enough production right now for a newborn no problem.

Congrats! I agree with Laurie...add another when baby comes..you clearly have enough milk to feed your newborn...yay!

I, too had lots stored...3000 oz. Though I doubt you will need it, it is kind of a comforting feeling to have it just in case...at least that's how I felt. I ended up donating a lot locally, and that's a good feeling too!

Best of luck...and keep us posted!

Congratulations! That is a great supply. With 24-26 oz a day, I don't even think I'd add in an extra pumping before the baby arrives. You will have enough for her. You might actually need to continue to pump to keep your supply up when she gets here, because she will not be drinking that much right away.
