I have been on the regular protocol for about 7 weeks. For the first 6 weeks, I took Yasmin as my BCP. But, when I did not experience significant breast changes, I switched to Ortho 1/35. I didn't skip any pills and have taken an active BCP of some type EVERY DAY. But, 4 days after starting the Ortho, I got a period -- not spotting, but a full period. I guess just switching the type of progesterone triggered it.

What does this mean for my breasts? If my uterus responded that way to the change in medication, did my breasts also respond in some negative way? Did I ruin everything? Am I starting from scratch now?

I've been taking the dom 20 mg 4 times a day and an active pill every day. I guess at this point I have no choice but to keep doing what I've been doing.

thanks,
Nicole

Nicole you did not ruin everything. Just keep doing what you are doing. It could be your period was triggered like you said by the change in progesterone as well as maybe the day that you switched. I wouldn't worry about it. How long are you planning to be on the protocol? Some women get their periods while on it anyway. It doesn't seem to determine supply either way.

Thank you for the reassurance. I plan remain on the BCP/dom protocol for at least 4-5 more months. I will likely start pumping in December or January. EDD is Feb 12, but my Surrogate is pg with twins, so they will probably arrive early.

I'm just relieved to hear that getting a period is unlikely to have an impact on supply.

thanks again,
Nicole
