I am using a 2007 model of the Medela PIS> It seems like my suction should be stronger. I have changed the white pads. I'm just wondering if this machine starts to lose suction after awhile and if any ther kind of maintenance should be done. I have look on their website but didn't see any suggestions.

I had used a preowned pump in style and then purchased a new model in the store. I felt a HUGE difference. If you have the money I would recommend purchasing a new one.

That being said, what makes you think the suction is too low? Are you sure you are using the correct size flange? Does the tubing have any holes in it?

Everything seems intact. I'm using it on the highest setting and it still feels comfortable. I get more flow when I turn it up. I'm wondering if it could be stronger, would I get more? The machine makes a straining sound when i turn it up at first and then seems to smooth out... but still not uncomfortable.
