Hello! This is my first time posting on here but I've been reading for a few months now. =)

My husband and I are in the process of adopting from Uganda while we live there as missionaries from May 2012- July 2013. We are hoping to adopt our little girl in July. I started the protocol to induce lactation on January 27th (20 days ago). I have not noticed any significant breast changes yet and it's making me a little worried... they may be slightly (very slightly) bigger but not one cup size! Also, they are a little (very little) painful and throb a bit (a little bit) at times. I have a few clear drops drip out after a hot shower or stimulation...but that's about it. Should I expect more changes? I have read posts on here and some have said they didn't experience any changes and they were fine. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I just give it more time? Lenore says you should see changes within 15 days...

I guess I just so desperately want to nurse our adopted baby because we don't know what she will have gone through in her first few months of life and we want to give her the best we can. I am so nervous it won't work out. =(

I have a 16 month old that I just stopped nursing 5 1/2 months ago. Do you think this will have any effect on my milk supply?

I am planning to be on the protocol 4 or 5 months and then begin pumping. Hoping I can get an almost full supply!

On the site, Lenore suggests upping your progesterone if you don't experience significant changes. Should I switch over to Yasmin (I'm on the 1/35 ortho)? In her personal e-mail to me before I started she told me she recommends the 1/35 because they've seen better results with it. I'm a litte confused!

Any advice or encouragement greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Amber

Hi Amber,

I would email Lenore directly again and ask her advice on any medication changes. I did not have significant breast changes and I think it varies by person. It is important not to try to stimulate your breasts to see if there is any discharge. This confuses the body. I wouldn't be concerned, but it can't hurt to get Lenore's advice on whether you should switch to something different.

Congratulations and good luck!

Hi Claudia!

Thank you for your quick reply! I am planning to e-mail Lenore and ask her what she suggestes. I would not make any medication changes before I get her advice. I am just wondering if any of you ladies have had similar experiences and can give any advice also.

Were you on the 1/35 or the Yasmin? Lenore recommended the 1/35 to me but on the site is says yasmin has more progesterone and can produce better results. I'm confused.

Also, I am not purposefully stimulating my breasts. I know you are not supposed to do this before it is time to pump and I leave them alone as much as I can....(it is my husband who has the harder time =).

Thank you!

I am in the same boat. If you hear back please post to let us know what she says. I can't help but worry that the mail order Dom may not be authentic. If it is, then I need to figure out why I'm still not having significant changes after having been on protocol for 8 weeks.

I also wondered if the domperidone I bought online is authentic, but I bought it from inhousepharmacy.biz, the site that Lenore recommended to me in her e-mail. So, I'm thinking it must be ok. It looks authentic. Baker, where did you buy yours from?

Has anyone else used dom from inhousepharmacy.biz?

I also purchased mine there and would love to hear from anyone who has already started pumping to hear if it worked for them:). My hope is the domperidone is fine but maybe I need more progesterone.

I purchased my dom from inhousepharmacy and they were great. The dom comes in foil packages and it is fine. I wouldn't worry about that. Pretty much everyone on this message board got their dom that way. I used Yasmin and did not have significant changes. The thing to remember is that this is different than pregnancy in that when you deliver a child your milk comes in and your breasts are filled with milk. Inducing is different because your milk is produced as you pump and makes your body think there is a baby there. I grew a cup size when I started pumping and producing milk. Everyone is different so don't assume that if you aren't seeing physical changes that they are not happening.

Boy, that was good to hear! I keep trying to tell myself to be patient. I just get nervous, I don't want to wait till the end to find out I should have changed something. So, thank you so much.

I also didn't have significant breast changes while on the protocol (I was on 8 months the first time and 10 months the second time). I got a full supply both times.

I saw big growth after I started pumping and had milk.

I also have a bio son and I didn't have big breast changes when pregnant either (wore my normal bra's until I delivered).

I took the Yasmin, as that is what they were recommending at the time. The second time they were recommending the ortho, but since the yasmin worked for me the first time, I stuck with it.

I also ordered from inhousepharmacy and was very happy with the product.
