I'm having surgery this Monday & my doctor told me I needed to stop taking the domperidone or she wouldn't allow me to have surgery. She said there's information that came out a couple of months ago about it, blah blah blah. I informed her that it was because of IV usage of much higher doses, but obviously wouldn't budge. I told her I would stop (I didn't) so I could have surgery.

Has anyone stopped taking it for a week or two? Were you able to build back up with what you were producing before?

I'm pumping right now for an adoption that will hopefully occur late this year (pleeeeaaaase!). I'm having stomach surgery and won't be able to take pills for a couple of weeks, so no dom for a while. I'll still be pumping and I know I'll probably drastically decrease, but I don't want to "dry up" and lose everything I've gained pumping.

I had an appendicitis and had surgery while on the domperidone. My doctors did know I was taking it, and I continued to take it while recovering in the hospital (5 days).

How long will you be in the hospital?

I had stomach surgery Monday. Was in the hospital for 3 days. I can't eat for a week. I pumped a couple times in the hospital, but was in so much pain I couldn't do more then that. I'm home now and only getting a few drops all day. I'm going to start back up Monday, but I'm afraid I've lost all that I gained (5 - 6 oz a day). I can't believe how bad my supply got in just a few days.
