Hi everyone. I've been on Yasmin for 90 days and domperidone for six weeks. (I didn't realize at the time I should have started them together.) My breasts have gotten just barely larger; no soreness. Should I begin taking oral progesterone in addition to Yasmin?
Also, I've had my period off and on for the entire 90 days including nonstop for the last 6 weeks. I have read that this can be normal for the first few months on Yasmin. Any cause to be concerned?
Thanks for any info!

No, I haven't taken any of the sugar pills, just the active Yasmin pills.

Hi Erin,
Everything is proceeding as expected. What you are experiencing is "breakthrough bleeding". It's quite common when taking birth control pills non stop. I had breakthrough bleeding all through the protocol both times that I did it. And then once I stopped the birth control pills and started pumping I didn't see my period for a year. At this point I've been breastfeeding for nearly 10 months and I haven't had my period since last Sept. Keep up the good work.
Fondly,

Thank you for the advice and encouragement, Lenore. While I don't look forward to having my period for that long, I'm glad to know that things are proceeding as they should.
Thanks!

I've been on Ortho for seven weeks now (dom only two) and I've had breakthrough bleeding for the last week now. Like you, I'm hoping it doesn't go on for the next eternity! My dh and I are trying to get some major quality time in before baby arrives (if you know what I mean <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />) But I am hhuuuuuggee in the top shelf - from a D to a G. Just in the last two weeks (since I've started the dom)! I feel badly for people because it's very noticeable and it must be hard not to comment...like when someone gains major weight in a short period. I feel awful most of the time and I tire out easily, though. Hang in there, I'm sure you'll 'take shape' lol! How is it going, now that time has passed? How are things going with your adoption? Let us know!

Sorry for the delayed response; hadn't checked this site in awhile. I've now been having my period for 9 weeks nonstop. Not fun! And still no significant breast changes. They are just slightly larger, but barely noticeable even to me. Since I'm already on domp and Yasmin, I guess I'll just stick with the protocol. No baby on the horizon yet.
Any news for you? It sounds like you're shaping up nicely. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hi Erin,
I realize that breakthrough bleeding is a pain in the butt but believe me when I tell you that it's all worth it. Also, the breast changes tend to occur initially and then they are not as noticable as time passes and they get used to the meds. That doesn't mean that things aren't happening. The milk making apparatus is building. Keep the faith. Trust the process.

Hi Erin, No baby on the horizon for us yet either <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I was starting to get a little excited as the agency told us that we would probably hear something by Haloween, but I'm guessing that old Ivan (we are adopting from the Grenadines) has changed that. I haven't called the agency to confirm this - I'm too afraid to hear what they'll say..and I don't want to sound like people have lost their homes and their lives and all I can think about is myself-but my thinking is that it's probaly the case. I keep trying to find peace in the waiting, but some days it drives me crazy. Today I feel like I could go down to East Hastings, drain our bank account on a lawyer and make a street worker a proposition she couldn't refuse! But instead, I'll just go weed the garden...ya know? It's a shame to because the jugs are brimming. I have a six month old in my daycare and once or twice I've missed a BCP...one wack with a little nuzzle from him and I'm leaking. It's just clear, but my guess is once I hit the pump it will flow. I just bought a Medela PIS on ebay for $150 CDN - still in the box. Poor woman had to stop breastfeeding because of something medical. I lucked out! I was going to start pumping Nov. 15, as that would be four months on the protocol, but since baby won't be here until after Xmas now and it says up to six months for best results, I guess I'll wait until Xmas holidays. It's probably better that way, then I have the private time to give it my full attention and have time for naps in the day so that I can do a night time pump. What's your plan of attack?
