When I nursed my 4 year old I followed the protocol using Diane as the BC pill. I also had Dom made by a compound pharmacist.

I am using Yasmin and am using the Dom from In House Pharmacy. I am not really feeling much of a change. One day my breast might feel full or sore the next they could feel soft and empty any ideas what might be going on?

Thanks,
Maria

Maria how long have you been on the protocol. Some women end up switching to Ortho 35

How long are you planning to do the protocol? I think maybe I would switch tot he Ortho and see if you get better results. What do you think, Lenore?

Thanks for your support on this.

I plan to be on the protocol at least two or three months we haven't had any contact from a birth mom as of yet. When doing an independent adoption it could be months or I could get a surprise in a week.

I was on the accelerated protocol for 3 months and didn't need to supplement. I started pumping with a Medela Lactina 6 weeks before my daughter was born.

I plan to rent the Symphony because I heard it is the best.

Can age have anything to do with this feeling full one day and empty the next?

Do I need to change what I am eating?

I am looking at low carb eating so that I won?t gain as much weight on the Dom or BC pills.

I really wanted to try the weight watcher program that allows you to loose weight while nursing but I wanted to get an idea of menus first. I am not very good at going to ?meetings? so I was hoping someone could give me some direction without having to become a member.

Thanks again for your input I really want to get my milk in and want to stay healthy for me and my children.

Hi Maria,

Welcome back and congratulations on a fabulous breastfeeding experience. If you have not experienced breast changes by now, it may be prudent to switch over to the Ortho 1/35. It contains a similar progesterone to the Diane but in a slighly lesser quantity. The progesterone in the Yasmin is different and some women do not find it as effective. Let me know if you have experienced changes within the two weeks following the change to the Ortho 1/35. If at that time you have not experienced breast changes we can talk about adding provera 2.5. But we're not there yet? Kindly discuss all of this with your doctor.

Best, Lenore
