Hi all! I am extremely happy & proud that I have successfully induced lactation for my adopted DD. We adopted her at 2 days old and she is now just over 11 mos old and has been exclusively breastfed. She just started solids and only consumes about 3 tblsp a day (we are trying for more!)....she needs about 4-7 oz each evening of supplemented breastmilk that I pumped/saved before she came....but my supply of stored milk is almost gone.
Once she hits 12 mos...should I supplement that 4-7 oz feeding with whole cow's milk? I am assuming not formula...but she needs something...is this my next step?????????
I've never been in this situation before as I had no concern with supply for my bio sons who nursed well into early childhood and weren't introduced to cow's milk until 2 y.o.
Thanks in advance,

I would say to check with your pediatrician. But as long as she has no dairy issues adding cows milk at 12 months usually isn't a concern. BTW you have done an awesome job!!!
