Hello everyone, I'm Joy and new here....my question is that I have just order Dom and have been pumping since Jan 17 w/ out any results at all(just a little clear liquid on top of my nipple every once and a while) I just started trying to take fenugreek and blessed thistle only for about a day....I pump now about 2 to 3 times a day trying to keep some stimutaion going, but I didn;t know if I should stop once the dom comes to let it get in my system or continue pumping..my Little one is due on april 7th and I'm wanting to have something for them... Please help I'm not sure if I'm right or wrong......I do oatmeal and I have increased my water....Thanks for any help.
Joy

Hi Joy,

Just wanted to say welcome and congratulations on the Little one! smile

I can't answer your questions, because I am new to this also. Just started the bcp and dom last week. As I understood the protocol, you are not suppose to pump yet. But maybe I am wrong.

Nona, Lalle or Lenore will most likely answer you soon.

Good luck! smile

Joy if you are doing the full protocol with the bcp as well Mama2b is right you do not pump. But if you are just adding Dom to help with trying to induce without meds you can continue to pump. In fact you need to pump way more than you are. A newborn nurses roughly 8 times per day so you need to try to maintain that schedule. Also you should have a lact-aid supplemental nursing system to nurse with when baby arrives.

Thanks for the replies, I have been working w/ LC and thought that I would be able to just use Fenugreeek and blessed thistle and when I first used a tea(prolactin tea)only dranked the tea one night and I guess the fenugreek made me have a full menstrual cycle for 8 days so I figured all I could do is pump and pump( the herbs did cause my breast to change more) but I couldn't keep it up...Dom didn't come into the picture until a couple of days ago...I'm waiting to receive my order...the protocol hadn't even been considered because of the short time I had until the LO is coming...I know I'm writing alot...I'm trying to stay encouraged and find out all I can..alittle late I know!!!
Thanks,
Joy

Joy, I didn't do the protocol until long after my daughter had arrived. I have to scoot right now but will come back and post more about it later.
You do need a supplementer though to avoid bottles and nurse while you establish your supply.
