Hi there. I have gained 5kg (sorry I don't know what that is in pounds) and feel moody, sluggish and get headaches. I'm told this is normal, and having read your posts and that of the others here, I accept that this is just part of journey to adoptive breastfeeding. With a bit of luck, some of that will come back off once the pumping starts. Did anyone else lose the excess weight with pumping?

I forgot to add, that at the beginning I was ALWAYS hungry. Abnormaly hungry it seemed. Now that I have been on the Yasmin and dom for 10 weeks, the hunger seems to be abating somewhat. My skin is not the best though, and I'm still getting regular headaches, but all in all, after nearly wanting to chuck in the yasmin and just put up with a longer pumping period, things settled down a bit, and I am now looking at keeping with it until the 6 week mark. Good luck. Hang in there. It will all be worth it in the end. I know its all very well to say this, but if you are like me and struggle with weight at the best of times, it is important to keep your eye on the end goal. Just think... that every pound gained just means there's more of you to love!!

I'm right there as well. I gained about 7 pounds as soon as I began the protocol and it leveled off near the end. I am now pumping and haven't gained any additional weight but haven't lost any either. I've accepted that it is what it is for now!

Hi Everyone,

The key to keeping the weight down for many moms is to increase proteins and reduce carbs. It's actually not the bcp but rather the domperidone. It's original use was to assist patients with geastric motility so it moves food quickly and then you're hungry. Increasing proteins may help.

Best, Lenore
