I am starting the accelerated protocol tomorrow. We are getting a baby in October (YEA!) and I am kind of nervous about what to expect with all the new "substances" going in my body! I took my first BCP today and will start the Domperidone tomorrow AM. Anyone have any reassurances for me or advice as I begin? I am SO excited about being able to breastfeed, but nervous about the "process" to get there... *sigh*
I had no side effects from the drugs other than a small weight gain while on the Domperidone and BCP's (5-7 lbs.). It worked great for me. I was on the regular protocol for 8 months and I have a full supply for our daughter that we adopted in December. Good luck. Jennifer
My only side effects from the bcps and domperidone was headaches for a week from the domperidone. Its common. After a week or so they go away. Also very very sore boobs! That means the protocol is working!
Adoptive mommy to 4 , Last 2 adopted nursed. Youngest nursed till she was 5! Raising 2 grandbabies, as infants they were raised on donor breast milk
That can be caused by the BCP's. They are simulating the early signs of pregnancy. Some people have better luck taking them in the evening. I think it usually subsides after a couple of days. Jennifer
