My GS baby is due any minute now, we are at 39 weeks, baby is estimated to weigh about 6.6 oz today.
I was on the regular protocol for 5 months and have been pumping (Limerick PJ's comfort pump) for 5 weeks, I now pump 8 total times, including two at night. no spray yet ( how can you see a spray when your nipples are in the horns?) I am making about 4.5-5oz a day. i figure this is enough to exclusively feed a newborn baby up until four days then if my milk does not increase I'll have to use the supplementer. I'm all prepared, i have bought the supplementer, have my own frozen expressed MM in the freezer plus I'm having my GS express her MM for two or three weeks, so I'll have plenty for a while.

I want to know if it is possible that my milk will increase with the baby, any encouraging stories out there, or if your milk did not increase, how did you supplement and with what.

I have the ingredients for home made formula if i have to do that, i hope not, but better prepared than hungry. i will always breast feed even if i don't make enough.

Your supply should increase with your baby nursing. A baby at the breast is such a better pump than any pump on the market.. IF your baby is having 6 to 8 wet diapers a day and is pretty muc content than rest assured your baby is getting plenty of milk

Here's what I do to see the sprays while pumping. I keep a thick flashlight -- the 6 or 8volt yellow kind with the huge rectangular battery -- next to the pump. I can rest the flashlight on my lap and point it at the shield to see if I'm getting any of those thin sprays. If I compress or squeeze some and see that the spray increases, I continue compressing that area for awhile. I hope this helps. It's my own little trick

OK maybe i am spraying. At times the milk pours into the bottle where as other times it trickles in. Perhaps that's a spray?

I have the limerick too and it is very hard to see sprays. The horns are very opaque. If you have milk pouring in sometimes, it is probably spraying at that time. Good luck!

Try hand expressing. You will see the sprays. You make more milk than I do and I have sprays.
