Hi,
I am doing great, got my Yasmin but now need to order the domperidone. But have a question about ordering it
Has anyone ordered their Domperidone from Planet Pharm. Did you order by phone or e-mail? If so did they get it to you in one week as they say? I ordered the Yasmin on line and got it with in about 2wks although they said it would take longer. If anyone has ordered it else where without a prescription would you respond and let me know. My Dr. says he will monitor me but will not order it. Even though I gave him the information. So thats ok. I am a nurse and can take my blood pressure or have my nurse friends take it. I don't anticpate anything to go wrong. Thanks for your help. Becky

Hi Becky, I've been ordering my domperidone from PlanetPharmaceuticals. I've called both times I've ordered - usually late morning or early afternoon works well. I've chatted with the same lady both times - she'll ask you for all the info she needs, and is very nice. Both times I've ordered 600 tabs. They can't send more than 300 per mailing without a prescription, but she just sends two packages of 300 a day apart. Both times I've gotten the first package in about a week and had no problems. Good luck! --Heidi

Hi, Thanks Heidi for replying to my question regarding Planet Pharm.

I have another question for anyone. What kind of side effects did you have with the Domperidone? And what kind of side effects from the Yasmin? How did you handle the side effects if any? I really want to be able to take both but years ago when I was worried about becoming pg I took birth control pills and got very nauseated each time, so I am a little apprehensive.

Also I read the studies done on Domperidone. At the end it stated that the long term effect on infants needed to be looked at. Any comments by anybody to this? Thanks so much, Becky

Hello,
The side effects on the protocol can be fatigue, increased thirst, elevated blood pressure, elevated blood glucose, headaches(which are generally only at the beginning), and of course the "bad" ones ..low chance of DVT's and other problems r/t vascular status,,,esp if you smoke. I am also an RN and check my bp at work. It did go up from 90/50 to 143/70. Luckily my diastolic never goes above the 70's or I would need bp medication. I only have about 3 weeks left on the protocol to give my almost seven months on it, then I will start pumping around May 11th. I have had a problem with weight gain, the increased hunger and bloating,,,I have gained about 45 lbs. I was luckily on the Atkins the last two years and was a size 4/5 to begin with, but am now a 16. I will go back on the Atkins after our daughter to be is weaned.
Hope this helps, good luck and let us know how you are doing,,,take care, Cathy

I've ordered from Planet Pharm several times, and have never had a problem with them. I always order via email.
As for side effects, I was on the Diane, so I can't help you there. I had mood swings with that, a little bit, but that's about it. And the dom has made me tired at times. I did have a weight gain on the protocol, but part of that was also due to poor eating habits. I can't entirely blame the protocol. I lost about 25-30 pounds when our dd came home, and on the protocol, I gained a lot of it back. But not all of it.
I don't know everything about dom, and the effects in infants, but I do know this. The use of dom is approved by the American Academy of Pediatrics for use in nursing moms. And, I know in Canada, they actually prescribe dom for infants with tummy troubles. Then there's the fact that the amount they get in breastmilk is not even the amount they would get if they were prescribed it. All of these things convinced me it is okay for me to take this while nursing. I would rather our baby have breastmilk with a little dom in it, then be stuck on taking all formula.
Hope this helps!
