Hello all,

I've been really happy with BF my DD for the past 7 months. Other than supplementing once at night, I have been EBF during the day.

However, as of late she has been seemingly discontent with the first feeding in the AM. I am wondering if I should increase the DOM. I am at 120mg now.

Any suggestions? I have started her on cereals so I am not concerned about nutrition, just want to continue a full BF experience.

I am surprised, because usually the morning feeds are the biggest. Have you tried to pump after the feed to see what you get. If you do that for a few days, it might help to increase the milk at that time. I would e-mail Lenore or Dr. Newman to see about increasing the Dom.

I've never had too much success at pumping after a feed. The MOST I've got is about 1/2 oz from both breasts.
It also might be that she has accustomed herself to the bottle
( after bf both sides) at night and doing the work of BF first thing makes her cranky. I will try and pump and see if that works.
thanks Jennifer

Linda make sure you are using a slow flow nipple on her bottle so she has to work almost as hard for the milk as at the breast.
Do you use the lact-aid? If so I would just add that in the morning and see how she does. Pumping after feeds may help too

You could also use it instead of a bottle at night.

I find I am not motivated to use the lact aid at night, too lazy? smile
I try and find a slow nipple here, but Bolivia seems to only have 1 size, which is fast.
thanks for the advice.

Linda I would be willing to send you some. PM me with your info and what kind of bottles you have.
