This is my second time on the protocol and I seem to be experiencing more side effects this time around than the last. In particular, I am having difficulty sleeping, which I think is due to the birth control pill. I've been on it five weeks (along with DOM) and I am expecting to pick up my baby in April. I'm wondering if it is too soon to discontinue it and start pumping, or if I should wait it out a bit longer. I have noticed significant breast tenderness and an increase in size, though I am not sure if it is a full cup size.

I am on the second time round for the protocol and am at 82 days. I am doing better this time in terms of NO breakthrough bleeding and adding a magnesium supplement really reduced the leg cramps. Maybe for insomnia you could try a small dose (like .5-1mg) of melatonin for a bit?

I've had insomnia that's not related to the BCP specifically. I have heard that warm milk really does work. Someone else I know says that orange juice helps. A friend of mine takes fish oil capsules for perimenopausal-related insomnia. Or, maybe a complex B vitamin would help (if it's stress related).

I'm not a dr or nurse, just very sympathetic to people who can't sleep.

Thanks everyone. I have stopped the BCP and started pumping, and am sleeping well once again.
