Hello! This is my first time posting on here but I've been reading for a few months now. =)
My husband and I are in the process of adopting from Uganda while we live there as missionaries from May 2012- July 2013. We are hoping to adopt our little girl in July. I started the protocol to induce lactation on January 27th (20 days ago). I have not noticed any significant breast changes yet and it's making me a little worried... they may be slightly (very slightly) bigger but not one cup size! Also, they are a little (very little) painful and throb a bit (a little bit) at times. I have a few clear drops drip out after a hot shower or stimulation...but that's about it. Should I expect more changes? I have read posts on here and some have said they didn't experience any changes and they were fine. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I just give it more time? Lenore says you should see changes within 15 days...
I guess I just so desperately want to nurse our adopted baby because we don't know what she will have gone through in her first few months of life and we want to give her the best we can. I am so nervous it won't work out. =(
I have a 16 month old that I just stopped nursing 5 1/2 months ago. Do you think this will have any effect on my milk supply?
I am planning to be on the protocol 4 or 5 months and then begin pumping. Hoping I can get an almost full supply!
On the site, Lenore suggests upping your progesterone if you don't experience significant changes. Should I switch over to Yasmin (I'm on the 1/35 ortho)? In her personal e-mail to me before I started she told me she recommends the 1/35 because they've seen better results with it. I'm a litte confused!
Any advice or encouragement greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Amber
