Hi all!

Well the adoption drags on....but barely sometimes. God, doesn't adoption suck sometimes?!? The uncertainty is so tough!

Well, I am still on the Yas and Dom but my PIS came and I was excited so I started to use it once a day for just a few minutes and I already have drops...both sides....

The question is....I have two weeks left of Yas. Shoudl I definitely not pump until I am finished with the Yas?

Thanks all!

Hey Eden! I don't have the answer for you, BUT I wanted to tell you that that's great that you've got drops!! YAHOO!!

I just got my Dom in today & started up on it & Yasmin. How long have you been on the combination? What do you think about it? Any side effects? I've read a lot of women have gained weight & have headaches...did you?

Take care,
Candace

Hello,
I would stay on the Yasmin for as long as you can. I was on the protocol for seven months, could express drops the entire time, and after 12 days of pumping am only making 1 tsp now for the entire day! I actually had 2 pumping's today without even one drop. I wouldn't pump anymore right now to give your breasts more time to develop. Pumping will release oxytocin, which you do not want right now. Take care, Cathy

Cathy and Candace,

Oh Good To Know! I will lay off those orbs! I didn't realize you were on the protocol for so long! Wow!

Candace, I had weight gain...about 5-7 lbs. and depression and fatique...but other than that ti great! HAHA! I am taking St Johns Wort now just for giggles to see if it helps and I am trying to be nicer to my hub.

The protocol talks about two months for the menopause deal....i think I need to have a good month of pumpong in and this baby could come anytime.

Cath, Are you working? How much pumping are you doing and with what product...are you doing the whole herb and oatmeal routine?

Much love,

eden

Hello,
I am taking all the herbs, plus vit B6 and Nifedipine for Raynauds, eating oatmeal, and pumping 8x a day. I thought I had a problem with my pump AC adaptor, so all day and night yesterday I was going out to my car every couple of hours for 45 minutes and pumping in my car with the lighter adaptor. I decided I could not spend quality time on my few days off with my son and hubby if I spent all my time in the car. It appears that it may just be the outlet at work I was using, the pump seems to be working ok at home.
I work full time 12 hour nights and am pumping at work also.
My breasts had been firm and larger when I started pumping, I could also feel lots of lump and good breast tissue. It may be a coincidence, but when I started taking the Soy Lecithin, now my breasts are soft and floppy, and the lumps are gone. Also, my aerola had been brown and after the Lecithin now they are pink again. I feel like I need to go back on the protocol to get back that breast tissue again! I am still barely pumping 1/8th tsp from left and just drops from the right, 13 days of pumping.
While pumping in my car yesterday, I got about 1/4 tsp, which gave me 1/2 tsp so I finally have some to save in a syringe.
Lenore and I are still trying to figure out why this is not working for me after so long on the meds. I think now that the Lecithin did some major damage after just two days on it.
I don 't know what to do at this point. I had to lower the suction on my PIS to low yesterday , since I was in tears the pumping was hurting so much. I am also very upset that my breasts are back down to normal, I was crying this morning, don't know what else I can do. Thanks, Cathy

Dear Cathy,

i am sosorry ,d ear, that this is so difficult. You have been through so much and made so much effort. I think you are in great hands with Lenore and the other knowledgeable ladies here.

Remember your positives. Give yourself a break....a mental break. You seem like such a kind person. I hate to hear you sounding so dejected.

Hot bath, good cry and a trashy magazine....works for me.

Much love to you, Cathy.

Thanks Eden,
You sound so nice also. I just pumped for one hour and got 1 drop on the right and 1/8th tsp on the left. I am gong to a movie later to try to take my mind off of things. We should have our baby girl referral very soon. We were just offered twin boys due next week,,,Yikes! They know we wanted a gril but just thought they would ask us. If I did not already have a boy we may have said yes, but we are pretty set on a girl this time. Thanks alot, Cathy

Cathy,
Hi, I have been reading all the posts as I try to decide what to do with this adoption....I have one bio child and just weaning my almost 3 year old son by adoption. Never had a full supply and used a supplementer which I couldnt seem to wean him from and I think it really affected my milk supply. Anyway, One thing that stuck out for me is that if you are really sore, you will have trouble letting down. Maybe you should cut back on the suction and still pump as frequently but also cut the time back for a while. When you get used to it and less sore, then go back up a little at a time.
Just my .02. I feel your pain, reading your emails, I had done 3 months of the protocol then our adoption was put off for about 3 months longer so I pumped a little and wasnt really getting anything and got bummed and gave up. Now i am trying to decide, do I do the protocol again for a month or so or do i just start pumping....it is hard when you dont see a lot of results.

Hello JP<
Thanks for the advice, I did have to go back to the low suction and work my way up to the medium suction.
I am trying not to get frustrated, but it is hard. Thanks alot, Cathy
