I did the progesterone/dom protocol x 1 year; pumped for 5 weeks; adopted baby.
I maxed at 2 ounces/day why pumping and went to breastfeeding within hours of the baby's birth. I worked on demand nursing and eventually started the last aid supplementer. Baby is now 4 weeks old. I am now having to supplement 3-4 ounces every feed via nursing supplementer. trying to decided if it is working at all. I feel like I am not seeing any increase in milk - How can you tell?
I have a toddler at home and just cannot pump in addition to nursing and caring for the toddler.

I had a scale that I used to weigh the baby before and after the feed to see how much she drank from me. It helped to give me peace of mind. I don't have much advice, other than to say it was a total leap of faith when I stopped supplementing. But I was only supplementing a few ounces a day at the time and baby was only drinking about 12-15 oz a day (she was only 2 weeks old and was small).

Good luck.
