I was on vacation last week and my extended family didn't exactly appreciate that when I said I had to pump every 2-3 hours that meant that I had to pump *EVERY* 2-3 hours. I ended up only pumping 1-2 times/day and nursing occasionally, and my milk has gone from 5-6 ounces/day to pretty much nonexistant. Will it come back, and if it does how long will it take to rebuild? I had to return my hospital grade pump and am trying to pump with my PIS.

I hate that life got in the way of having success with this and am fairly angry at my family for their lack of support, but if it is a lost cause I'd rather move on than continuing to bash my head against the wall.

Don't lose hope. I would get back to your schedule of pumping every 2-3 hours and you will see your milk come back. Nursing will also help. Are you taking dom?

If it has only been a week of little pumping, I would guess it will come back pretty easily. I am also wondering if you are taking dom? When my daughter was 3 months old, I had an appendicitis and was hospitalized for 5 days (it ruptured). My supply dropped quite a bit, but when I got out and got back to a regular routine, it returned within a week or so.
