Just wondered;has anyone ever used the Whisper Wear pump? It looks like it would be really easy to use? But,I'm also leaning towards the Whittlestone as well just hearing about its performance and its ability to express milk so effieciently,please,let me know what you think.

I felt that my Whittlestone was a very comfortable and 'stimulating' pump back in the stage when I was 'dry' pumping and just trying to get my milk supply started. However it is much less effective at actually removing the milk once it is there. I am actually using a semi-automatic "Nurture III" pump along with hand expression now, as it just takes a long time to get the milk out with the Whittlestone.

Hi~ just a quick note;
I won the Whisper Wear pump brand new on ebay last night and should be receiving it soon!!!! I will post and let everyone know how it goes! I'm also now on the Atkins Diet as well. I'm shooting towards losing at least 50 pounds and,trying to do the phase 1 of the diet.Now,I have been reading everyone's posts here about the phases and the concern while breastfeeding. I'm barely making any drops right now( don't have the pump yet) and,I really need to lose this weight!!! So,I will attempt the phase 1 of the diet,all going well,and I get my WW,I may decide and switch to the phase 4.
I wil keep evryone posted on my progress!

Hi
I am a low carb/Atkins expert. I was on it for two years straight, stayed a size 4 and preach its merits to everyone I meet.
I do not, however, recommend phase 1 while you are inducing lactation, not becuase I feel in any way that it is unsafe to be in ketosis for you, but I do not feel having ketones in breast milk would be good for the baby. Also, the Atkins diet keeps you on the dry side (has great diuretic properties), even if you drink alot of water. You do not want to be dehydrated while making milk. Phase 4 or Maintenance phase is perfect for you,,,eliminate the "junk" carbs, and stick with very small portions of dark green vegies, almonds, cottage cheese, berries etc...these are the lowest carb foods besides meats and fish,,you can also have a nice big salad everyday with low carb veggies such as cucumbers, small amt tomatoe's, green peppers, avoid higher carb veggies like carrots, corn, pea's,.,,also, no high carb fruits like watermelon, cantelope, grapes etc...just stick to blueberries, raspberries, blackberries,,you can mix them with a packet of Splenda and some heavy cream,,,yum!
There are alot of low carb websites now, where you can get low carb (mostly soy flour, almond flour etc) breads, muffins, bagels, brownies etc...I used to eat these alot, but while making milk I had to cut alot of these out only because they are high in soy protein (which is so healthy, but does contain natural estrogen which can decrease you milk supply)...
As soon as they decide what is going on in Guatemala, I will decide if I will stop pumping and taking the domperidone, then I am going right back on the atkins....strictest phase 1 !!!
Take care,
Cathy

Thankyou! I will be just sticking with my own judgement for now,I have high blood pressure and am taking meds for that I was a little scared about that factor. I will just start cutting out the food that are no good for me and take it from there
Thanks

Hi everyone! I recieved my WW yesterday and it works pretty good! I also bought the Lactina Select off ebay really cheap!!! I figured the WW might not be up to the task of getting the supply established,so,I went ahead and got that one too!
Will keep you all posted about everything,thanks,
Rachel
