I am 37, have done IVF three times, breaking the bank, but resulting in my beautiful son, Jean-Luc, who is now 3. We were considering adoption for a second child, but had not yet looked into it when my son's beloved teenage babysitter became pregnant. We are good friends with her parents, and she is like a daughter/kid sister to us. To make a long story short, we are adopting the baby, Marc, who is due in mid-November. It is obviously an open adoption, and all parties are very excited. Since I knew quite early we'd be adopting this baby, I looked into induced lactation, and praise God that I found this website!

I started on the Regular protocol in June. I was so anxious to start that I didn't wait for my period to start the Yasmin. Consequently, I had lots of spotting the whole time, which was a pain. By late July I was having irritability and moodiness, sort of like PMS, which I attributed to the pill. I wanted to stop the Yasmin and start pumping, but decided it was too early, so I planned to give it another month.

The first week of August, I went to Kansas City on business, and forgot to bring my Yasmin along. I had been on it for 2 months. I had my dom with me, though. I was there for 6 days, so I decided I'd try to hand express, even though I didn't really know how. What choice did I really have, I didn't have a pump, and was afraid the whole thing would be blown if I didn't at least give it a try. On the second day with no Yasmin, I started getting drops. The next day I got spray. I made up a song, "My milk came in in Kansas City" to the tune of "I left my heart in San Francisco"!

The day I returned (one week off Yasmin), I pumped 4 ounces. I started the herbs and oatmeal, and my supply steadily increased, by about 1/2 ounce to 1 ounce daily. When I got to 18 ounces, I ran out of the herbs and since I still had 10 weeks or so until the baby's due date I decided to stop the herbs for the time being.

Well, my supply continued to increase, and now I'm storing 26 to 28 ounces daily! So I hope he's born hungry! I praise God for this wonderful blessing, and want to thank Lenore for the protocol. Even though I didn't follow it to the letter, I got great results!

Hi,
You did have great results, esp for only being on the protocol a couple of months. I think the previous pregnancy also had built up some nice breast tissue. I am very happy for you and hope everything goes well with the adoption.
Take care,
Cathy
