I've read about other woman who have taken as much as 160mg of dom. Does anyone know if this is safe? Do you think one would get more results if they changed their 80mg dose to 160mg?

I have heard of a few instances where more than 80 ml per day was used. Check out this article that someone else posted on another bulletin board....
www.bfar.org/domperidone.shtml
Maybe that will give you information you are looking for. As for it helping your production, I really have no idea. You don't want to take too many meds, especially if it won't necessarily help much.
Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Thanks Dawn for the link. It was quite interesting. I have seen others post to take the Dom 30 minutes before eating, but have never understood why since we aren't taking it for GI purposes. The link you provided said to take it 90 minutes after you eat for greatest absotption.

Here is the info: "Maximizing Absorption A study by Heykants (1) has shown that absorption of domperidone increases from 13% to 23% if domperidone is given ninety (90) minutes after eating. This means that the drug will act most effectively when mothers take it an hour and a half after eating."

This does make sense to me. It will probably help releave that uncomfortable feeling I have after I eat since it slows digestion in the stomache but increases digestion in the intestines, (per the documentation my dr. provided.)

Hi Melissa

I also wondered when to take it, some places say 30 mins before meal and some say 90 after meal. I take it every 4 hours during the day at 7am, 11am, 3pm & 7pm. Because of the frequency I guess it works both ways (half an hour before food and 90 minutes after food!) Can someone advise me please.

Thanks
Andria
