Hi! I just started the accelerated protocol on Monday (3/15). I'm taking compounded domperidone. Is this less effective than the tablet form? I live in DC and it's easiest for me to get the compounded form (pharmacy below my ob/gyn). Should I be ordering from an online source to get the tablet form?

Also, I've been reading prior posts and see that weight gain while on the protocol is a concern...why is this? If, when I took bcps for IVF I didn't experience weight gain, will I experience it now?

And another question...What about timing for beginning pumping....can I take 75 days of the Yasmin, then start pumping, or should I take only 60 days of the Yasmin then start pumping?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Kate

I've heard varying theories on which is more or less effective, and I'd stick with what you have right now and if you're happy, don't worry. The imported domperidone is usually quite a bit cheaper, though.

Some women gain weight on birthcontrol pills, and some women don't. If you haven't in the past, you're probably okay. Any weight you do gain will probably come off pretty easily when you're nursing a chubby babe!

I'd stay on the bc pills for as long as possible. Your babe is due in July, right? Then I'd probably go until late May or early June, or whenever you complete a pack of pills around then. It depends on what you want to do. Pumping for months can be tiring, and you'll maximize possible breast changes by staying on the pill as long as you can.

Good Luck. How very exciting!

Thanks for your reply! It's pretty exciting starting the protocol. After a week, no noticable symptoms, although I have become increasingly tired.

I'll be working with a lactation consultant who is very excited about the entire situation and using this protocol.

Thanks for all your support!

Kate
