Has anyone found a great deal on a Medela PIS - Advanced?

The best I have found so far is $249.99 at Breastfeeding World Homepage

Does anyone have experience with the new PIS- advanced versus the old PIS?

I know of a woman who rents the Classic medela for $55 a month. I'm trying to decide if I should purchase one. Which is the hospital-grade pump that we should start with? All of the model names are confusing me. I think Lenore said to start off with the strongest hospital-grade one to bring in the milk supply. Then to go to a lighter one (the Symphony?) for maintenance.

Any words of wisdom out there?

Yes the Classic is a good pump. But you want a PIS. The classic is only one speed. The PIS is considered hospital grade as well. You will get 5 different pumping speeds on it and 5 different suction speeds. And it is light and portable. The classic is a heavy dinasour of a thing..

Hi Ladies

A friend lent me her Ameda Lactaline personal dual breast pump (with flexishields) for as long as I want it. Can someone tell me please if it's any good, or whether I should invest in a Medela PIS pump instead. The Ameda has suction and speed controls and I managed to express within minutes a couple of months ago, though I'm not starting to pump for another 3 weeks.

Thanks
Andria

Induced lactation and breastfed for 8 months, now doing it a 2nd time for surrobabe due Jan 2008!
