She eats about every 2 hours or so and it's like 10 minutes on each breast and then 3-4 ounces of breast milk that I have thawed out for her. And she is at the breat AGAIN right now. Hey and she is holding her head up at two weeks... I am still able to get milk after she feeds so I feel pretty good for having stopped the domp Savannah Rose Marie due April 13, 04 via TS

I am a little worried about her breastfeeding so often and yet taking in 3-4 oz of supplement. I suspect that she may not be well and truly latched onto the breast. Some babies need a little help with breastfeeding. The best way to be sure that everything is proceeding as it should is to arrange for a board certified lactation consultant to visit you at home. You can find one here: www.iblce.org It will probably only take the one visit to be sure that all is well. And then it won't be long and you'll be breastfeeding without supplement. She gets fussy I put her to breast, then she sucks for a second or so then eyes closed nothing nothing suck suck, then she will let go and still be alseep. Lenore extra helpful experienced member L Joined: Sep 2002 Posts: 1,347 Canada	Is breastfeeding causing you pain? If it is, your baby is on the nipple and not well and truly onto the breast. Don't be a hero...call in a board certified lactation consultant pronto or you'll end up with an exclusively bottle fed infant instead of an exclusively breastfed one. Hey I'm an LC and I STILL called in an LC to help me with my second son. His oral anatomy was giving me a lot of trouble. Luckily Carole came to the rescue and so did Pat. Two of the best IBCLC"s out there but there are more, and probably just around the corner from you. www.iblce.org Pat and Carole both gave me little tricks that helped me out instantly. Now I've helped hundreds of women but when it came to my own baby, I needed help and luckily I got it. So make that phone call.
