Hello!

Does anyone here have experience storing and freezing breastmilk in lact-aid bags? It seems kind of logical as this is where you will eventually want your stored milk to be, isn't it?

I am trying now keeping the bag on the brace in a glass in the freezer while filling it - have found a paper clip that should close it nicely once it is full, at least if stored upright.

Is this going to work? Look forward to hearing your experiences!

Love,
Chris

I believe the recommendation from the Lact-aid site is not to, but it is not uncommon for people to do it.

Chris,

I seem to think I've read somewhere that it isn't reccommended either but I think you have a good idea and perhaps I will try it too. I figure that once you get the milk frozen you can then just put it along with several other bags into a larger freezer bag or freezer safe container to prevent against freezer burn and punctures. We frequently preserve garden vegetables by double bagging them in this way so I'm sure you can do the same with breastmilk.
