What is the best way to clean the PIS after use? Is it safe to use in the Avent Microwave sterilizer?

Hi Yohopi:
I just ordered my Medela PIS, too. I'm excited about receiving it. Yohopi, since I noticed that they do sell used ones on EBay (I purchased a new one on EBay), might I recommend that you carefully open the box and keep it? I'm going to try to keep everything in tact. That way when we are done with it, we can sell it easily on EBay, as well.

Waiting to hear how others clean it. I've heard of sterilization units from Nona. They are on EBay, too.
Thanks,

Hi Ladies,

Medela sells microwavable sterilizer bags that can be used up to 20 times each. You can put the horns and two small bottles in there. I wouldn't put the tubing in there.

Thanks Lenore,

I already got hte Avent Microwave sterilizer. I assume I can use that in place of the medela bag.

Do the diaphragms go in the microwave bag as well?
