My milk is iincreasing , not leaps and bounds ( not even an ounce) though. Should keep using the same bag until I reach 2 oz ? Or do I wash it out and wait until I can get 2 oz at one pumpig session ?

Lastly how long should I pump ? I usually pump 7 -10 minutes about 3 times a day. Sometimes I only get to pump once or twice a day because I work, I have a DH and two young boys.

Yasta pumping more is essential for a good supply. You should try to pump at least 6 times during the day and once at night. As for keeping the milk definitely do that. Just refridgerate inbetween pumpings and once youhave enough freeze it. Every drop of milk is liquid gold for your baby. 10 minutes is the suggested time frame for pumping. Do you have a double pump? So pumping for a minimum of 10 minutes every 3 hours. Then once during the night. If you think of it that way it doesn't seem so daunting. Your goal is to mimic nursing a baby.

personally I suggest 15 minutes of double pumping.. I find that after about 10 minutes I get a second let down. Lalle is right. You have GOT to get more pumpings in. Your milk is NOT going to increase like it needs to if you don't

Keep up the good work, Yasta. It is hard to get all the pumpings in. It will help if you get a pump holder bra, or just cut holes in an old bra. That way you can answer a phone call without spilling, read, check email, etc. However, Lenore's posting the other day about the breastfeeding meditaion cd is a good reminder that stress levels can affect supply ... try to think or do something relaxing while you are pumping (look who's talking)! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Yohopi -
I have been pumping since June 1st the baby is due the last week of July. I am increasing daily, not leaps and bounds, but I manage to store 1 ounce in the freezer. Hopefully I have a several 2-4 ounce bags of breast milk stored up by the time we bring the baby home.

I am glad you are doing well. Keeps me encouraged!

I get a teaspoon of milk from each breast every time I pump and seemed to have plateaued. I use the PIS as well about 6 times a day at min vacuum. I start with speed 5 for 30 sedonds and then reduce to speed 3 for 15 min. What is your pumping style? I seemed to have plateaued in my milk production. Do you have any tips for me to increase? I have been pumping since .June 17.

Thanks,
Yohopi
