HI
I am doing the advanced protocol and am due to start pumping next week. The problem is my mother in law has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and we are currently travelling 300 miles every weekend to spend time with her. There are several other family members living in the household including our bi-polar 9 year old nephew and there is no privacy at all, the room we stay in is a loft in the center of the house! Should I try to wait to start pumping since there is not a definite baby in sight or would it hurt to only pump a couple times during the weekend? Not sure how to handle this. Don't want to screw up pumping once I have started. Any suggestions?

If you truly cannot pump while there I would think first about getting the car adapter and pump in your vehicle. Get a cooler and keep it packed with ice to store your milk. If you cannot do that then I would wait to start pumping. How long have you been on the protocol?

I have been on the protocol 34 days. I was going to finish up the second pack of Yasmin which would make 42 days total. We are being considered for a couple of situations due in Aug and Sep but I am not getting my hopes up. I just was wanting to start building a milk supply just in case. Maybe I will wait. Or the car is a good idea.
Thanks

Jonie,

It would be best to be on the protocol as long as possible, so I would suggest holding off on pumping until you know you know more certainly that you will get the baby.

Use this time to educate yourself, read all the message posts, get your pumping supplies ready, etc.

Take care and best wishes,
Christina
