Hello all,
My Little One has been on a nursing strike for thee weeks. I've tried the Lact-Aid (had been using SNS), bathing, getting him when he's sleepy, switching from Avent bottles to the Playtex Deluxe Nurser that's "clinically proven" to aid in nursing, praying, putting my yummy fresh milk in the supplementer, putting formula in the supplementer, putting donated milk in the supplementer ... going to breastfeeding class each week (the LC I've been going to has a free BF class each week) .... any ideas?

Help! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Mahalo,
Christina

Hey there, Sounds frustrating....I have no advice except to say that as much as possible keep doing what you are doing, and try not to stress....bad for milk production.

I would keep pumping as well for your production and maybe also a doc visit to rule out any physical things like sore throat or weak muscle tone that makes sucking uncomfortable.

If you stress ( and I am sure it is hard not to) the baby will pick up on it and get stressed too making your dillemma more difficult.

Wait it out and keep pumping...

Two cents for you...

Best,

Eden

Thanks, Eden. At his 6 month check up a couple of weeks ago, all was fine. He is six and a half months now. I am still pumping ... always have because it never felt like Henry emptied me completely.
