Hi all! I have a quick question. To recap, our GS is currently 38 weeks preggo with our first child. I was on the regular protocol for seven months. I have been pumping for almost four weeks now and am starting to wonder about my production. I have been pumping every 3 hours and follow the pump, massage, tickle, jiggle, pump method as outlined by Lenore. I might get about a tablespoon total per day. It doesn't seem to be increasing as the days go by either. Any words of advice or encouragement? I drink as much water as I can, and though I HATE oatmeal, I've been eating it four or five times a week. I will start eating it daily since Ameless said she can tell a difference when she doesn't eat it daily. I have also ordered a Lact-Aid. Any other suggestions or ideas? Is this the maximum amount that I should expect? Will I produce more milk once baby comes and starts to bf?

Thanks!

absolutely you will produce more once you begin to nurse your baby. How much? I don't know but I do know producing for a pump can be a very hard thing for some people. When you nurse your little one just relax and enjoy them at your breast, the milk will come. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Keep it up, you don't have much longer to wait. Be excited and rejoice with every drop you get.

Hi WG,

What you can try instead of the tickle jiggle shake thing, is to pump for 20 to 30 min straight on the medium suction at medium speed. Do this every 2-3 hours by day and at least once during the night. That should help.

Fondly,
