...and I've only been on the Accelerated Protocol for a little over two weeks. That, and when I traveled out of state to go to the 32 week appointment last Friday, I forgot my dom. I missed almost 2 days. Do I have to start the 30 days over from the time I restarted the dom?

We are hoping to keep the baby from coming at least 2 more weeks which will take me to the end of my original planned time to be on the bcp's and dom. Assuming I don't need to start the 30 days over, do I just start nursing totally with the Lact-Aid when the baby arrives? Do I also pump? Am I going to have a problem nursing a baby who is born at 34 weeks with a Lact-Aid?

Also, (sorry for so many questions!) my breasts aren't sore at all anymore - could two days off the dom do that?

Thanks so much for all your help in this process!

Hi Rebecca,

You don't need to start over, just continue, and please continue on the medications even if your baby arrives. You need at least 30 days on the meds before starting to pump. If baby arrives before your 30 days are up, just breastfeed with the help of the lact-aid.

You should be able to get a 34 weeker to the breast provided that your baby is able to take nurishment by mouth. Please arrange for a board certified lactation consultant to help you. See if the hospital has one or you can find one here www.iblce.org Just click on the "About IBLCE" button and the US and International registries pop up.

Once the 30 days are up if you can pump, great. If baby is here and you're breastfeeding with the lact-aid, try to pump after feeds for about 10 minutes.

Hope this helps. Warmest regards,

Yeah! Things are looking better now. My cousin (who is acting as our Gestational Surrogate) went on bedrest for a couple of days and then slowly went back to work. Her levels have stablized, so things are looking better that we'll get that baby close to full-term. I've been on the Accelerated Protocol for 25 days now and actually started leaking about three days ago. I was expecting something yellowish-looking but it was nice and white and creamy-looking! I hope that's a good sign.

Thanks for all the help and support. I'll keep you updated.

Great news! Keep up the good work. It helps me to put all my pills and vitamins into what I call a "granny pill box" ... it has seven removable indvidual pill organizers for each day, and each day has four compartments. So if you go on a short trip, you grab a few days worth ... plus an extra or two for emergency. Then you don't have to lug all your botttles with you. If you are out all day, it fits nicely in your purse.

I've seen them at most pharmacies and even at the Dollar Tree!

Good luck! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
