I finally got my Lact-Aid.....our daughter is due in 39 days!! Not that I am counting!! LOL I have a question....right now I am trying to increase my pumping time and frequency...a week ago I was getting about 1tbsp per day, now I am getting about 1 tbsp per pumping session and I am getting about 4 - 5 sessions in per day....I am planning to get on a schedule starting this weekend to pump at least every 4 hours and I plan to stay on that schedule for 2 weeks then up it to every 3 hours till baby arrives.....I only have 6oz frozen right now, but it looks positive that I may have a decent amount in the freezer by the time she arrives.....my question is, is there anyone who has been able to wean off of the Dom and/or herbs if they produce a full supply? If I am only seeing an ounce per day now, I doubt I'll get a full supply, but if I do, I may want to try to wean off of the meds.....just wondering.....my mom is concerned, she says that I shouldn't take all these "meds" while nursing.....I told her that without these "meds", I probably wouldn't be producing anything anyways!!
Just needing a little boost, I am getting discouraged a bit!! This is really requiring lots of self discipline that I really don't have right now!! UGH, I want to snap out of feeling so blah!!
Thanks so much ladies!!

since your baby is only 39 days away. You need to really up the pumping woman! Every 2 hours and once during the night

Good question, Jenn. I'd like to know also. Mainly due to the expense of continuing the dom for years.

Not sure about weaning, but the cost of Dom pales in comparison to the price of formula! That stuff is ridiculous!

Good point,
I had forgotten that cost of a little can of powder. Just how long has everyone breastfed from adoptive breastfeeding? I'm thinking until 2 years old????

I will begin my one time in the middle of the night next week.......not looking forward to that one!!! Though I'm not sleeping too well anyways b/c I am just anxious for our daughter to be here!!

You may want to consider bagging only 2oz. at a time... that's what I did because I was thinking if I used a lact-aid she wouldn't need a full bag's worth and I wouldn't want to waste it. But... you could still freeze the full bags and I think after thawed it will keep in the fridge and you can just pour an oz. at a time. Just something to think about.

Wow, Jenn!!! That is fantastic. Just remember you will have to feed that little one during the night so this pumping just helps to prepare you for getting up to tend to the baby. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
