My husband and I are adopting. The baby is due January 12th. Yeah! I was able to breastfeed our biological child 9 years ago and hope to breastfeed this one as well. Since Dec. 13th, I've been taking Blessed Thistle and Fenugreek as well as pumping. I just got domperidone via mail so I will begin tomorrow. Yesterday after pumping, I started producing kind of a crust like substance (like the sleep in your eyes inthe mornings). Then today, it was more like a sticky brownish substance. Yes, that is normal. It is like cleaning out the lines. It should get lighter in color before it becomes that clearish white milk. Just keep up the pumping.

Lalle's right, we call this "rusty pipe" milk. It should transition to white milk soon. Please keep us posted on your progress.

It did get lighter in color and now it's milky! YEAH! I am just producing little droplets though. Will the amount increase?

do you have a lact-aid system? Using that while nursing will help bring in your supply as well as pumping right after nursing as well.
Do you feel like your breasts are full or heavy? Are you eating oatmeal and getting enough fluids?

Yes, my breasts do feel full and sometimes heavy. I can tell when it's been 3 hours. I 'm not familiar with a lact-aid system. Where could I get information on this?
