Is there any interaction between domperidone and over the counter allergy medications. My friend takes Allerest and is worried that it might decrease the effect of the domperidone. She has been on the dom for about 5 weeks on the accelerated protocol and is due to go off the Yasmine in a few days. Should she avoid the allergy meds?

Allergy meds can dry up your milk depending on what they are. I would try to avoid them if possible. If she really needs them email Lenore to see what her recommendations would be.

Can you find out the ingredients in her Allerest? It comes in two forms. It's not the domperidone that I'm worried about, it's the pseudoephedrine that is known to suppress milk supply. If anything, the domperidone should be a big help. There's nothing in Tom Hale's Medications and Mothers Milk to indicate that there is an interaction between the pseudoephedrine and domperidone. But I know that Allerest also contains an antihistamine. Which one is in hers?
