Somebody please tell me that this is a good sign. I finished the Yasmin (took 42 pills over the last month and a half), have been taking 80mg of dom for those 42 days, and started pumping this am for the first time!! My left breast got about 3 fairly large white drops (and some of the clear/yellowish liquid), but my right breast didn't produce anything. I don't expect sprays immediately, but I also did not expect WHITE milk!!! When I pumped last year using a cheap'o pump, I saw the clear/yellow liquid but never anything beyond that. I wasn't taking bcp's or dom and just randomly started pumping to see what would happen, so I was encouraged that I got the clear liquid the first time I ever pumped with a cheap pump!

I know that it can take months to see sprays or even drips, but please humor me and tell me this is a good sign!!! I am using the PIS pump and will be pumping every 2-3 hours (even made an Excel spreadsheet to keep me on schedule!) and once during the night. I can't believe I just saw WHITE milk come out of my booby! LOL!! I collected it in a eye dropper and gave drops to both of my daughters. I can't wait to see sprays (if I ever do!).

Ok, now my right breast is producing a drop every time I pump. I have to admit I am a little discouraged that I'm not seeing more after 2 months on dom. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I thought at least it would be dripping down into the flange. It just sorta sits on my nipples and it's really not even enough to collect in an eye dropper. I'm going to keep pumping and see this through and I only hope that in a few weeks I see more progress.

I guess at least I am seeing WHITE milk!! Before, without the Yasmin and Dom, all I would see is the clear/yellow fluid.

You are doing wonderful and on your way to making a good milk supply. Don't get discouraged-YOU ARE MAKING MILK! It is not uncommon for one breast to produce totally different then the other...I do that. We all react so differently so hang in there-you are doing great <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> It took me a few weeks to see sprays-oh I remember that day and how excited I got. Make sur eto let us know when it happens.

Naomi, thank you so much for your encouragement. I need that so badly right now. I was bad with pumping yesterday because we were just so busy. Weekends are going to be so hard, I can see that now. But during the week, I should be able to keep up my schedule. I need to get a battery pack for the PIS so I can take it with me and use it in the car when we are out.

Today, I actually had a drop DRIP DOWN my breast!! LOL! It didn't just sit there and taunt me. It actually moved! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Why does it start like this? If the milk is in there, why does it only come out in drops? Is it just the pumping that is the key to this whole protocol? Is it because the bcp's might still be in my system and in a week's time when all the hormones are gone I'll see a bigger difference?

CONGRATULATIONS!!! What you are experiencing is NORMAL. It takes time for the birth control pill to leave your system. Keep up the pumping and your milk supply should build and build.

The battery pack should have come with your PIS in the same box. If not, contact Medela and ask them to send you one. It's basically a container that plugs into the PIS. You have to fill that container with 8 batteries. They also have a car-lighter adapter that may be better for you and less expensive in the long run.

I'll try to check in in a couple of days if I can manage internet access.

Thanks Lenore! I actually got the PIS from WIC (it's the same thing, but in a blue bag). It didn't come with the adapter, so I bought the car adapter for about $15 at BabiesRUs. Thanks for your reply!
