I've been taking Dom - 30mg 3x/day - to induce lactation for my baby who is six months old. My partner gave birth to her and is going back to work and while the baby has latched on and 'dry nursed' since birth, I'm wanting to get some milk in.
I chose not to do the Yasmin because I do not do well emotionally on hormonal BC.
Is there anyone that relactated (my last breastfeeding experience was 12 years ago!) using only Dom and pumping??

I would suggest you change your dose of dom to 20 mg 4x daily That is the recommended dosage for the protocol. It would also help to add the recommended herbs, blessed thistle and fenugreek 3 caps 3x daily. You can nurse with a lact-aid and that will help stimulate your milk. Feed her each feeding with the lact-aid and you can also pump afterward for about 10 min with a double pump. Will your partner be pumping if so you can use that milk in the lact-aid

well, in the past day, I've started getting large white drops of milk! I'm getting an electric pump on Sunday and I'm going to start the herbs today while pumping more.
It makes it hard because I don't want to do anything to jeopardize my partner's supply, but I suppose she can pump if she needs to off and on.

I would definetly increase your domperidone to 20 mg 4 times a day. Also be sure to pump atleast 8-10 times a day. Lalle is right.. you can use the lact-aid. Have your partner pump her milk for you to use while she is at work. This will keep her supply up and she won't have to worry about it dropping off.

ok, so i did read that you can do 30mg 3x/day, but i'm trying to space it out more to four times a day. it's not easy!
i'm taking blessed thistle and fenugreek.
i'm pumping about six to eight times a day. maybe i should increase? i pump for about ten minutes on each side. is this ok? i'm getting white droplets, but nothing more. just large white drops. this is normal, right?
how long should it be before i see more of a flow of some streams? i'm starting to wonder if i should start the BCP now in addition to everything else....would this help?

To induce lactation you need a good double pump. What kind of pump do you have? The Limerick is a new one that rates really high and the Medela PIS is a good one too. Pumping both breast simultaniously is the key. As for spacing the Dom I did first thing in the morning, lunch, dinner and bedtime.

Hi there,
The domperidone dose of 30 mg 3 times per day is actually ok and ends up giving you 10mg more per day than our usual regimen of 20mg 4 times per day. Since domperidone has a half-life of about 8 hours you're ok either way.
It's important for you to get hold of the double set up for the Pump in Style ASAP. How did you end up with only one breast shield? Is this a second hand unit? Did you rent it? It comes with two in the box. Are you sure you have a Pump in Style and not a Lactina?

I got the pump from a friend. I have ordered another pump kit so I'll be double pumping soon. I've also ordered a LactAid.
As of yesterday, I'm getting about a TBS from both breasts combined each time I pump! Yay!
I do have a question: I remember with my first daughter my milk tasted very sweet. Currently my milk tastes more like water. Is this normal? I'm assuming it is.

This is actually our version of pre-milk. Once you are producing ounces, the taste should be the similar to your previous experience. I cannot stress enough the importance of double pumping when you do not have the benefit of the birth control pill portion of the protocol. Also, many mothers who cannot use the bcp add Goat's rue to build breast tissue. Here's the link: http://www.motherlove.com/product_goats_rue.phpBest,
