I am happy to report that I have began pumping today and was able to fill the bottom of the bottle in one sitting. I was somewhat skeptical about it all.. wondering if I would indeed lactate and today my prayers have been answered. I'm hoping for continuing success in the future building a healthy supply for my adopted daughter due in late October. I have definitely thanked Lenore for providing the information need to get this far and I would also like to thank the rest of you ladies who have been through this already and provided information on these message boards to help newbies like myself. Congratulations on your success! I am just starting the process and am a little nervous. We could have a baby within the next 1-4 months. I am on the Yasmin and am awaiting the arrival of the Domperidone now. Could you tell me when you started the process and what you did? I'd feel more secure knowing your story. I've never been pregnant and am perimenopausal. My breast are already very tender with the Yasmin alone. Also I was wondering if the lactia pump is sufficient or do I need the symphony? mom2be How long have you been on the Yasmin? it really doesn't do anything on its own. So you will need to count the time on the protocol from the time you are on both theYasmin and Dom together. Also if you are buying a pump the Limerick is most recommended. Other wise the Medela PIS or symphony are fine, any of the others really aren't for women who are inducing lactation. If I had to buy a pump I would definitely buy the limerick.

I have been on the Accelerated Protocol for exactly 30 days taking the Yasmin once a day and Domperidone 2 pills (10mg) 4 times daily. Yesterday was my first day pumping with my cute little Limerick pump it works wonderfully and I managed to get about a teaspoon from each breast in every pumping session. The more I pumped I noticed I would produce a little bit more "milk" it looks exactly like breastmilk but I'm not sure if it is quite yet. I'm not storing any of it until the milk stream actually comes in. My daughter whom I am adopting from my sister is due in late October so I'm hoping to have a well established supply by then. I'm not expecting I will have full supply which is why I have a Lact-Aide so I think all will work out well.. at least I am hoping so. I have never been pregnant before but my arms are always open to children who need a good home. As far as I am aware I can have children but there are so many in the world who need good homes I figured I'll have one natural.. someday and adopt the rest =0) I have a two year old named Tyler great kid. He was born at 26 weeks gestation so he's very small for his age and I'm hoping I can supply him with breastmilk to help boost his immune system. Hopefully we can avoid trips to the hospital this R.S.V. season. Oh yeah as for the pumps I would definitely suggest buying a Limerick. There is also the Medela Classic Pump which is hospital grade very expensive to buy or you can rent it.. it's as good if not better than the PIS or Symphony. There is also the Lactina which I believe you can rent from your local La Leche League or Hospitals. Once again good luck to you! I'll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us!

Richette you can give the milk you are pumping now to Tyler. It is good milk please don't throw it away. You can also start storing it anytime.

I have never heard of the Limerick breastpump. Just Medela PIS and Lactina. Where can you find one? About how much is one?

I think you have to be a member but I'm sure if you try to contact them, they will give you all the information you need to know about purchasing one. I would highly recommend it I think it's already paid for itself. As for storing the milk I have in now.. I wasn't sure if I should or not because I am unsure if it is "mature milk" it looks like it but I'm not sure.. I do hate to see all my hard work going down the drain so thank you for the advice!! it is much needed =0) and I will definitely start storing it. I get a little more with each pumping session I couldn't be more excited and proud of my body if I actually had the baby myself! Thanks for everyone's support.

I am almost two months into the protocols, and may get a baby in Dec (!!!). I tried to continue lactating since my younger son weaned in March, but the Lactina was just aweful. Is the Limerick a hospital grade pump? Anyone else here use it?

Lenore has used it, so has Nona. They tested it out while it was being developed. There are many other women on here who are currently using one. It is recommended for inducing or relactating
