Hello!
I too was dealing with your same consultant. I induced lactation for twins, a boy and a girl. After similiar experiences as you all had, I decided adoption wouldn't be for us. We have a very limited budget, and were told many things, and were so excited about the twins. And the twins were going to work out because my husband had a small employer adoption benefit, which would be doubled, so we had $5000 coming from that to help cover the costs, so there would only be 4000 more needed in total, which we could do. And then of course with the doubled tax credit, we were so excited that everything was going to work out financially and on top of that we were getting double the blessing of having two more children!! Of course, that never worked out. After a few months of prayer and thought, and other family issues (my mom is battling cancer), we decided that adoption is just not in the plan for us at least in the foreseable future. I believe I have sold off the last of my supplies, I still have several hundred ounces of milk in the freezer that I am trying to decide what to do with. I have carseats and clothes and other items for twins that never came.
I know I'm not inducing lactation anymore, but I still lurk here occasionally. I hope one day that we can adopt. I just don't know how to get past the financial barriers, and I really thought that consultant had answered our prayers.
