Hello,

I just found out that i need to have eye surgery this week and I am a bit worried about domperidone mixing with other drugs I will have to take for pain, etc...

I have let my surgeon know that I am on dom and fenugreek - but is it safe to take with pain meds and being anestiticized (sp?)..

According to Thomas Hale, Ph.D. "Medications and Mother's Milk, 2006" the drug interactions associated with domperidone are as follows:

Drug Interactions: Cimetidine, famotidine, nizatidine, ranitidine (H-2 blockers) reduce absorption of domperidone. Prior use of bicarbonate reduces absorption of domperidone.

What about prevacid and prilosec? Do they interfere with Domperidone to?

Thanks for the replies...just thought I'd give an update...

I had surgery on Wednesday afternoon and had to stop all drugs for that day. I also could not pump (for obvious reasons!). The next morning I was engorged and it was quite uncomfortable!!! I began the dom/fenugreek again and pumped as much as I could but it was tough with other recovery. I really felt like giving up...but I stuck with it. Now it is 5 days post-op and I am back to close to what i was pumping before surgery.

My only complaint is that I have to lie on my stomach for most of the day to recover from surgery but my breasts are sore from pumping!!! Ah well, it'll only get better from here - we leave in two weeks!
