We've been using the Lansinoh freezer bags, but with both of us pumping and storing, we're sometimes using 4-6 bags per DAY! That's over $1/day.
With all the other expenses, even that starts to add up.

Is it possible to use regular freezer bags, like the Ziploc ones? Or has anyone had luck with the non-zippered bags?
I would think that a regular twist-tie would be kind of sharp and possibly puncture the bag or other bags stacked on top of it.

We have a few gallons of milk in the basement freezer already and are pumping about 30+ ounces/day total. And we have no baby in sight!

Any cost-saving tips would be greatly appreciated!

actually yes you can. Just make sure they are freezer bags. But the do tend to leak when you thaw them.

CONGRATULATIONS on a fabulous result! You go girl!!

Another option is 8 oz liners for bottle feeding that you can get in the baby section very inexpensive. 600 are selling on Ebay for 8.99 http://cgi.ebay.com/600-GERBER-Pre-steri...2QQcmdZViewItem

But you would need to double those and roll the top down and staple because they don't have a ziplock. You would also not be able to lie them flat. It's a good idea to put those in a large Ziplock in the freezer for added protection and be careful not to overfill because these things are not designed for breastmilk storage. When you thaw them you would need to put each on in a smaller ziplock to guard against leaking during the thaw. I hope I'm making sense.
